Trenchless Sewer Repair in Salt Lake City: Restore Your Sewer Line Without Tearing Up Your Property

A damaged sewer line can cause backups, slow drains, foul odors, and worry about what may need to be dug up. For Salt Lake City homeowners, traditional replacement may also mean cutting through a driveway, disturbing mature landscaping, or opening a long trench across the yard. Trenchless sewer repair in Salt Lake City offers a less invasive option when the existing line is a suitable candidate.

Beehive Plumbing uses camera inspections to identify the problem and determine whether the line can be renewed from within. When pipe lining is appropriate, our licensed Master Plumbers can repair the sewer line with limited access points, firm pricing before work begins, and less disruption to the home and property.

Update2: Kudos to Beehive who saw my update and is in the process of refunding the $50. Thank you! PS we don't want Christopher to lose his job. We just want honest, clear communication. Update: Three stars for the most recent repair person. He told us it cost extra to do the finish caulk, so we told him we'd do that part, and he said ok. He told us the warranty was included when we asked if it cost extra. After these communications, we signed and he went to work - come to find out, he did the finish caulking even though we had asked him not to, and the warranty is not included. It was itemized as a $50 fee on our final invoice. We felt tricked. We confronted him, and he said, "Well it was on the order you signed!" If you get Christopher Beck, double check his list of fees before you sign even if you have communicated clearly what you want and do not want. He was on time, and did a great job, but communication was questionable. Makes me want to try a different plumbing company next time, or request a different repairman. Old review... Five stars for the clogged drain guys: These guys are clean, respectful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They got the job done right and now our drains flow perfectly.

3.5 Quality of work was excellent, however he said it would cost an extra $50 to caulk, so we clearly stated we would do the finish caulking, but then he did it and said it was included in the price we signed. We still don’t know if it was an extra $50 or not, but we felt tricked.

Matthew was so knowledgeable. We had no idea what was happening. All sinks, toilets and showers were backed up. Help...... he figured out it was the construction going on in the area, excacly where our pipes run. He went and spoke with them. Always kept me updated as to what was going on. We ended up paying nothing. This is and will be my plumber from now on. So polite, honest and sincerely cared. Thank you Matthew, from the bottom of my heart for making a difficult situation easy for my parents and I. ❤️

What a Failing Sewer Line Can Cost You

Sewer line damage rarely stays isolated when wastewater cannot flow correctly. Delaying an inspection may allow backups, leakage, or structural damage to worsen, while repeated drain clearing can mask a problem that requires repair.

  • Sewage backups may damage flooring, drywall, furnishings, and personal belongings and can create an unsanitary condition inside the home.
  • Conventional sewer replacement may require an open trench along the damaged line. Depending on the pipe’s route, excavation can affect lawns, planting beds, walkways, patios, or driveways.
  • The excavation itself is only part of the impact. Homeowners may also need to plan for soil replacement, concrete or asphalt work, and landscape restoration after the plumbing repair is complete.
  • Recurring backups, several slow drains, sewer odors, unusual wet areas, and repeated root-related clogs are reasons to schedule a sewer camera inspection. These symptoms do not confirm that lining is needed, but they can point to a main-line problem.
  • Repairing a symptom without documenting the line can lead to repeat service calls. A camera inspection can reveal cracks, root entry, separated joints, corrosion, deformation, or a collapsed section and show where the defect is located.

That evidence guides the recommendation. Trenchless lining may be suitable when the host pipe still provides a continuous pathway for a liner. A severely collapsed, badly offset, bellied, or missing section may require excavation or another repair method.

Professional Trenchless Sewer Repair for a Less Disruptive Solution

Trenchless repair renews a damaged sewer line from inside the existing pipe. For cured-in-place pipe lining, the line is first inspected and prepared. A resin-saturated liner is then inserted through an access point, positioned against the pipe wall, and cured to form a new pipe within the old one. This approach is often described as no-dig sewer repair, although a small access opening may still be necessary.

Traditional excavation exposes and replaces the pipe by digging along the repair area. Lining avoids the need for a full-length trench, making it especially useful when a Salt Lake City sewer lateral runs beneath established landscaping, a driveway, or another finished surface. The correct method depends on camera findings, pipe condition, access, alignment, and local requirements—not on disruption alone.

What's Included in Beehive Plumbing’s Trenchless Sewer Repair

Camera Inspection and Diagnosis

Every recommendation begins with a sewer camera inspection. The plumber documents the location, extent, and likely cause of the problem, checks the pipe’s continuity and alignment, and evaluates whether cleaning and lining can produce a reliable repair.

Firm Written Pricing

You receive a clear, written quote before approved work begins. The scope is based on the inspection findings, the repair's length and diameter, access conditions, and the pipe's preparation requirements.

Master Plumber Installation

Beehive Plumbing’s licensed Master Plumbers evaluate the line, explain the options, and perform the approved work. That continuity helps homeowners understand why lining, excavation, or another service is recommended.

50-Year Pipe Lining Guarantee

Qualifying pipe-lining installations are backed by Beehive Plumbing’s 50-year guarantee. Your written proposal and project documents identify the coverage that applies to your installation.

Master Certificate Report

After qualifying work is completed, Beehive Plumbing provides a Master Certificate report documenting the repair. Keep the report with your home-maintenance records for future reference.

Same-Day Service Availability

Same-day installation may be available when the inspection confirms that the line qualifies, access is ready, and the required preparation can be completed promptly. More complex damage, permitting, access work, or excavation can extend the schedule.

Our Trenchless Sewer Repair Process

The method is selected only after the sewer line has been inspected. Here is what Salt Lake City homeowners can expect from diagnosis through documentation.

Step 1: Call for Service

Contact Beehive Plumbing for 24/7 dispatch in Salt Lake City and surrounding service areas. Tell the team about backups, slow drains, odors, prior root problems, and any recent sewer service.

Step 2: Camera Inspection

A plumber runs a camera through the sewer line to locate defects, assess the pipe’s condition and alignment, and identify access constraints. Cleaning may be needed to obtain a clear view and prepare a qualifying pipe for lining.

Step 3: Repair Recommendation

The plumber reviews the footage and explains the appropriate options. Lining may be recommended for a continuous pipe that has cracks, corrosion, leaking joints, or root entry points. Excavation may be necessary for a collapse, a major offset or belly, a missing section, or a condition that prevents proper liner installation.

Step 4: Firm Quote

You receive written pricing and a defined scope before authorizing the work, including the proposed method, access requirements, and any known limits or additional restoration needs.

Step 5: Trenchless Installation

For an approved CIPP repair, the prepared liner is inserted through an access point, fitted to the existing pipe, and cured in place. The crew confirms the repair before returning the line to service. Same-day completion is available for some qualifying projects, but timing depends on site and pipe conditions.

Step 6: Handover & Repair Documentation

After qualifying work, you receive a Master Certificate report documenting the completed repair and the applicable project information.

What Trenchless Repair Means for Your Property

The central benefit of trenchless lining is avoiding the need for a continuous open trench along the sewer route. The crew works through existing cleanouts or limited-access points whenever the site and pipe allow.

That can reduce disturbance to lawns, trees, planting beds, walkways, patios, and driveways. It may also reduce the amount of restoration a homeowner must coordinate after the sewer work, although the exact access needs are confirmed during inspection.

A smaller work area can make the project easier to manage at an occupied home. It can limit blocked areas, heavy excavation traffic, and the time parts of the property remain inaccessible. The plumber will explain when fixtures can be used again and whether the household needs to avoid water use while the liner cures.

Once cured, the CIPP liner forms a continuous pipe inside the host line, covering cracks and failed joints and blocking root entry through the lined section. Lining is not a way to correct a severe belly, restore a missing pipe, or repair a fully collapsed section; those conditions may require excavation.

Flexible Financing for Sewer Repairs

A sewer repair is rarely a planned household expense. Once an inspection confirms that work is needed, financing can help an eligible homeowner address the problem without postponing a necessary repair.

Beehive Plumbing offers financing through GreenSky and FTL for qualifying customers and projects, including sewer work. Financing is subject to approval and program terms; the team can explain the available application options.

How long does trenchless sewer repair take?

Some qualifying CIPP lining projects can be completed in one day, but that is not guaranteed. Cleaning, access preparation, pipe length and condition, curing requirements, permits, and any excavation can affect the schedule. Your plumber will also tell you when the sewer line can safely return to service.

Trenchless lining is designed to reduce excavation, not necessarily eliminate it. When existing access is suitable, the work may be completed through cleanouts or limited openings, helping preserve the yard, driveway, and other finished areas. The inspection determines the access your property requires.

Cost depends on the liner length and diameter, pipe condition, cleaning and preparation, access, and any excavation or permit requirements. A camera inspection is needed before Beehive Plumbing can define the scope and provide written pricing.

Beehive Plumbing offers a 50-year guarantee on qualifying pipe-lining installations. Review the written proposal and completed project documents for the coverage and conditions that apply to your repair.

No. Lining needs a continuous host pipe and suitable access. It may address cracks, corrosion, leaking joints, and root-entry points after proper preparation. A severe collapse, a missing pipe, a major offset or belly, or another condition that prevents liner placement may require traditional excavation or an alternative repair method.

Beehive Plumbing provides residential sewer service in Salt Lake City and communities across Salt Lake, Davis, and Utah Counties. Local service extends to areas such as Sugar House, Murray, Sandy, West Jordan, and West Valley City; scheduling depends on the property address and current availability.
